Oscar Isaac Really Wants To Do A Space Movie With Pedro Pascal

Oscar Isaac has revealed he really wants to do a space movie with his friend and fellow Star Wars actor, Pedro Pascal. Isaac has had a busy year after his stand-out performances in both The Card Counter and Scenes From A Marriage. The star also provided the voice for Gomez in the sequel to the newest animated iteration of The Addams Family, as well as wrapping filming for his upcoming MCU debut in Moon Knight. His latest release, Dune, premieres this week and sees Isaac’s return to space as Duke Leto Atreides, alongside a stacked cast that includes the likes of Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, and Jason Momoa.

Isaac and Pascal have a long-charted history of friendship. After first crossing paths while performing in an off-broadway production way back in 2005, the pair have since gone on to become somewhat of an iconic duo. Both actors have secured their own key roles within the Star Wars Universe, with Isaac starring as Poe Dameron in the sequel trilogy, and Pascal as The Mandalorian himself, Din Djarin. In fact, Isaac has previously confirmed that he pushed Pascal to take on the Mandalorian role. The pair starred alongside one another in 2019’s Triple Frontier, which also starred Ben Affleck and Charlie Hunnam, but prior to that, the pair had never appeared together on screen.

Now, Isaac has said he would love to do a space movie with Pascal. While chatting with Remezclathe star was asked who he would like to "hit up space with next," after his journeys out of Earth in both Star Wars and Dune. Isaac immediately knew the answer, and gushed about his fellow actor Pascal, calling him his “sweet girlfriend” and referring to himself and Pascal as “Space sisters”. Check out Isaac’s full quote below:

“I’d have to say my sweet girlfriend Pedro. My girl. We’re two sisters. Space sisters. That’s my baby. It’s my Pedro.”

Pascal has been equally busy this year, and his packed schedule certainly looks set to continue into 2022. The star is currently filming for HBO’s The Last Of Us, the highly anticipated adaptation of the hit video game of the same name, in which Pascal will star as the lead character, Joel. The actor is also set to begin production on the The Mandalorian season 3, which recently started filming. However, due to the nature of Pascal’s costume in the show, the star is only needed on set for the rare scenes where his helmet is off.

Isaac is becoming somewhat of a seasoned veteran when it comes to playing intergalactic characters, with his latest appearance in Dune only adding to that. Now, it seems as though the star is very keen for his good friend to join him next time around. Many have been calling for a crossover of fan-favorite characters Poe Dameron and Din Djarin ever since it was first announced that Pascal would be joining the Star Wars universe back in 2018. Now, considering Isaac's comments, perhaps this may not be entirely out of the realm of possibility. If that doesn't work out, fingers crossed for a best-friends-in-space adventure from Oscar Isaac and Pedro Pascal at some point in the future.
