Is Ezra Miller Playing Both Versions Of The Flash? | Screen Rant

In DC's new teaser trailer for The Flash, it appears as though Ezra Miller's Barry Allen will soon be joined by another Flash, but is Miller be playing both versions of the Fastest Man Alive? While this new first look doesn't provide much information about the film's overall plot or the exact identity of this other Flash seen in the background, it does seem as though Ezra Miller will be playing both versions of the Flash at the same time. Apparently, the Scarlet Speedster's best source for backup looks to be the Scarlet Speedster himself.

Released during DC's FanDome 2021, the teaser trailer opens with what looks to be two Barry Allens entering an abandoned Wayne Manor while a voiceover of Michael Keaton's Batman questions why Barry would want to stay and fight for one particular timeline when the Flash can travel the multiverse and visit any timeline he wants thanks to his connection to the Speed Force. While this all serves as a solid confirmation that The Flash directed by Andy Muschietti will explore other dimensions and worlds in the DC multiverse, the fact that there are two versions of the Flash is pretty exciting.

However, it should be noted that this second Flash isn't seen all that clearly in The Flash's short FanDome trailer. That being said, he does look a lot like Ezra Miller, albeit with a different and longer hairstyle - an indication that this is either a Flash from a different universe, or possibly an alternate Barry Allen from a different point in Barry's own timeline. Furthermore, it does appear as though Miller is playing both versions of the Flash thanks to set photos from The Flash's production which reveal Ezra Miller's Barry arguing with another actor who carries quite the resemblance to Miller himself. Also, this actor/double is wearing an eyeline rig in the photos, an indication that a CGI composite of Ezra's face will most likely be added in post-production.

It should be quite entertaining to see Barry Allen bantering with none other than himself (if that's indeed who this alternate Flash truly is). Combined with the addition of Sasha Calle’s Supergirl and their attempts to recruit Michael Keaton's Bruce Wayne from Tim Burton's Batman films, it's clear that Barry Allen's new team is going to be a wild collection of heroes, especially since Ezra Miller will be filling two of the four spots. Likewise, while the plot's exact danger they'll need to overcome has yet to be revealed, it should prove to be rather personal to the Fastest Man Alive seeing as how two Flashes are joining forces to meet it.

In any case, it appears as though The Flash will indeed have Ezra Miller pulling double duty as two different Flashes in the upcoming film that promises all kinds of multiversal shenanigans. While Barry Allen working with Flashes from other dimensions is nothing new in the pages of DC Comics, it should be a rather dynamic and unique team-up on the big screen when The Flash releases in November of 2022.
