There are many activities to explore in Diablo 2: Resurrected, including defeating powerful bosses and finding the secret cow level, and players will earn equipment while doing so. Completing quests and exploring large, randomized maps are all part of the adventure in Diablo 2: Resurrected. Like in most RPGs, any chance to explore and fight enemies in Diablo 2: Resurrected will lead to random gear and weapon drops.
Although finding items is up to RNG, it's also tied to the character's level, so a higher-level character has a better chance to receive rarer items. Bosses in Diablo 2: Resurrected, like Duriel in Act 2, also have a better chance to drop high-quality items on defeat. Some items, which have additional properties, will need to be identified before they can be equipped.
Players will need to hunt down the best gear and weapons if they want to build a top-tier character like the Archer Amazon in Diablo 2: Resurrected. Gathering a large number of items means players will need ways to quickly identify them. Players can sell unidentified items, but there will be no way of knowing if the gear is better than what's equipped to a character without first identifying it. There are two ways to identify items.

In Diablo 2: Resurrected, any item above normal quality needs to be identified. That means magic, rare, set, and unique items all require identification before they can be equipped to a player's character. Using high-quality items leads to top build like Diablo 2: Resurrected's Frozen Orb Sorceress. Players have two options for identifying items: they can use a Scroll of Identify or have Deckard Cain look at the items after he is found in Act I.
Scrolls of Identify can be bought or dropped randomly by enemies. It's recommended that players purchase a Tome of Identify from Akara at the beginning of the game in Act I. Tomes will store scrolls of the same type so individual scrolls don't take up inventory space. When players want to identify an item, they just have to click and hold on the tome (or the scroll if they don't have the tome), then drag the cursor to the item and click again. New properties will be revealed, and the item can now be compared or equipped.
The other method for identifying items is to speak to Deckard Cain. Players will come across Cain in Act I and save him. In return, he offers to identify any items the player brings him without using a scroll. The downside is that Cain is in town, and players will still need to use a Scroll of Town Portal to reach him. Without an abundance of these scrolls, Cain is not always the best option. Using a combination of both methods will make it easy for players to constantly check their items and determine what they need to keep.
Diablo 2: Resurrected is available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
