Jill Duggar's family came together to offer her their support, after the Counting On star announced she miscarried her third child on her family YouTube channel. Jill and her husband Derek Dillard got married in 2014 after courting each other for about a year. The couple met face to face for the first time in Nepal, where Derick was working with Jill's dad Jim Bob Duggar. Prior to, and after their first meeting, a majority of their relationship took place over the phone or via Skype. Derek moved back to Arkansas in January 2014, and just two months later, the couple was engaged. Things moved pretty quickly from there, as they got married in June 2014 and found out they were expecting their first son only a month later.
Just before their first son was born in 2015, Derick and Jill were offered an opportunity to serve as missionaries in Central America. After their son was born, the couple decided that serving in Central America was the right move for them, packed up their lives, and moved there. The couple stayed in Central America for two years, coming back home just in time to give birth to their second child Samuel. Since then, the couple has stepped away from the TV cameras and began sharing their lives through their YouTube channel. Jill has also distanced herself from the strict rules she grew up having to follow as a kid. She now wears pants, cut her hair, and even pierced her nose.
Jill's family recently came together to offer her support after she announced she experienced a miscarriage earlier this month. In their YouTube video, Jill and Derick explained how excited they were to find out they were expecting a third child, only to be heartbroken to find out they were miscarrying a few days later. They also shared they had planned to name the baby River Bliss Dillard. After sharing the video on her Instagram, her family flooded the comments section with their love. Sister Joy-Anna Duggar commented that River was loved by so many, and she sent her love and prayers to Jill, who she said her heart is breaking for. Sister Jessa and Jinger also expressed their love for Jill and sent her prayers.
While many of Jill's family reached out, including sisters and cousins, there were noticeably a few family members missing from the comments section. One sister who didn't reach out publicly was Jana Duggar, who has spoken publicly about Jill's decision to distance herself from her family. None of Jill's sister in laws, or her brothers reached out publicly with their support either. This adds more speculation into the rumors that Jill is on bad terms with some of her family, after choosing to break away from her family's strict way of life. Others have made minor changes to their lifestyles, but Jill has made the most waves since getting married, such as admitting to using birth control.
It seems like most of the Duggar children are following in their parents footsteps in terms of having a big family. Jill seems to be the only one content with having a smaller family. It will be interesting to follow along with Jill and Derick on their YouTube channel while they navigate this loss. The former Counting On star posts videos of her and her little family as they go on adventures together across America, and introduce their boys to so many new things. It will be so exciting to continue to watch the Dillard family as they grow and learn.
