Chris “CT” Tamburello of The Challenge is branching out past reality TV and has just been announced as the star of a major motion picture. Challenge GOAT CT is one of the best competitors on the long-running show, and now fans will get to see his acting chops in the remake of the 1932 film The Most Dangerous Game. It’s a new direction for CT, and many of his long-time fans are eager to see him grace the big screen.
CT’s first appearance on The Challenge was on the season Inferno, and since then he’s participated in a whopping 22 seasons and secured six wins. The intimidating competitor is known for his strength, endurance, and strategy, and CT is definitely not someone any player wants to go against in a Challenge elimination. Currently competing on Spies, Lies & Allies, CT is well-positioned to add another win to his belt. But it seems CT has more goals and accomplishments in mind than another Challenge victory.
It turns out CT is going to become a bona fide movie star, Deadline reported this week. According to the news outlet, CT will star alongside Oscar-nominated actor Tom Berenger in The Most Dangerous Game. The movie’s plot focuses on a group of individuals stranded on an island being hunted for sport, and will likely include a lot of physicality from CT. The original film featured old Hollywood stars Fay Wray and Leslie Banks, and writer-director Justin Lee felt it was time the story was retold.
The Most Dangerous Game isn’t Challenge champ CT’s first foray into film. The reality star was also featured in the 2019 horror movie Habitual, where he played a drug-popping raver trapped in an abandoned insane asylum. However, The Most Dangerous Game will be CT’s highest-profile project to date. Director Lee is confident that audiences will take a shine to CT in the new movie, commenting "What Chris has brought to the table in the role of Sanger is beyond exceptional and I am very excited for the world to get to see what he is capable of as an actor.”
Many fans of The Challenge are eager to see how CT transitions from reality TV show competitor to actor, but it’s not the first time that a Challenge champ has pursued other projects. Fellow Challenge legend Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio now hosts talk show Celebrity Sleepover, and other Challenge alum have branched out into other ventures as well. However, a major movie like this, starring alongside an Oscar-nominated actor, is a pretty big deal. CT has flirted with the idea of retiring from the demanding competition show, and perhaps acting is his next big direction.
