The news was first revealed by author Diana Gabaldon, who writes the ongoing Outlander books, at an event for the ninth book in the series, which is titled "Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone."
Outlander season 6 will pick up where the previous installment left off, with Claire returning to Fraser’s Ridge after escaping a violent encounter with Lionel Brown (Ned Dennehy). Along with her husband Jamie, Claire does her best to thrive in a society that marches toward revolution. This dichotomy becomes clear, as the married couple defends the home they’ve built together at Fraser’s Ridge. First-look images, along with a trailer for Outlander season 6, have hinted at some of those struggles.
Some fans have wondered why there are only eight episodes in Outlander season 6, especially as the show began with a 16-episode run that was spilt in two halves.
