Mysterio Cosplay Has Impressive Comic-Accurate Fishbowl Helmet

One Marvel fan went above and beyond with their Mysterio costume for Halloween, complete with the villain's comic-accurate fishbowl helmet. Debuting in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the character was played by Jake Gyllenhaal in the MCU film. In the post-credits scene of the Phase 3 blockbuster, Mysterio revealed Peter's secret superhero identity in a surprise video, seemingly turning his world upside down and setting up the story for the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Set after the events of Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: Far From Home dealt with Peter Parker (Tom Holland) grieving the death of his mentor, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.). Overwhelmed by everything that happened during Thanos' (Josh Brolin) invasion, the sequel featured an international trip with his friends around Europe where he met brand new allies and enemies. It was Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), who was really Talos the Skrull (Ben Mendelsohn) in disguise, who first recruited the wall-crawler to team up with Quentin Beck. Apparently known as the superhero Mysterio, he ended up in the Sacred Timeline from the multiverse fighting various Elemental creatures. In the end, it's revealed that Mysterio's backstory is nothing but a bluff designed to steal Iron Man's E.D.I.T.H. But despite the villain's death in Spider-Man: Far From Home, one fan thought the character should be revived.

A Reddit user with the handle u/FormerlyRobespierre dressed up as Mysterio for this year's Halloween, and did an impressive job. The whole ensemble included villain's iconic fishbowl helmet that glows in the dark. Apparently, the user stuffed the headpiece with cotton and lights to achieve a similar smoky glowing look as per the film and the comics. That said, the helmet isn't exactly functional, as the user admitted he couldn't see anything when wearing it. However, that doesn't make the Halloween costume any less spectacular. Despite his demise in Spider-Man: Far From Home, Beck's presence will still loom large in Peter's next adventure. Aside from its multiversal aspect, Spider-Man: No Way Home will also see Spider-Man deal with the fallout from his secret identity being revealed. Now that Mysterio's malicious revelation has been released on-mass by Jameson, the young hero will be subjected to trial by publicity. As seen in the marketing for the threequel, this will force Peter to reach out to Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) for help, as even his loved ones are being scrutinized due to their connection to him.

There are theories claiming that Mysterio may have faked his death in Spider-Man: Far From Home and may return in the upcoming finale to the Homecoming trilogy. However, there's no concrete evidence backing up the idea. Chances are that Beck's potential involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home will only be through flashbacks and various other references. That doesn't mean, however, that Marvel Studios can't bring him back in future films, if the narrative calls for his appearance.
