Genshin Impact 2.3 Livestream: All Playable Characters Confirmed

The Genshin Impact 2.3 Special Program livestream has revealed what fans should expect in the next update, including the new playable characters arriving in-game. New Genshin Impact characters are always an exciting prospect, and after a bit of a content lull in 2.2, Version 2.3 will add in more long-awaited Inazuma characters. For those who missed the livestream, here's every confirmed playable character for Genshin Impact 2.3.

Ahead of the livestream, miHoYo had already shared images and info of two new characters, Arataki Itto and Gorou, on social media. Gorou was leaked for Genshin Impact earlier in the year, but rumors ramped up as fans speculated he'd be arriving in Version 2.2. Itto had been mentioned in-game but had yet to have his design revealed prior to miHoYo's unveiling. Both characters were highly anticipated ahead of the Genshin Impact 2.3 livestream and fans were eager to see them officially confirmed.

The Genshin Impact 2.3 Special Program aired on the game's official Twitch channel, as well as on TikiTok. Ahead of the broadcast, fans were expecting both Itto and Gorou as new playable characters and a Banner rerun for Albedo, essentially turning the 2.3 patch into a Geo-centric update. Despite miHoYo's recent crackdowns on Genshin Impact leakers, a lot of info regarding Version 2.3 had surfaced online already. Still, fans wanting new playable characters weren't left wanting in the latest Special Program livestream.

The first character confirmed during the Genshin Impact 2.3 livestream was Gorou, the fox-like Geo user who wields a bow in battle. The next character confirmed was Arataki Itto, the oni and gang leader who has become a fan-favorite since miHoYo first revealed him on social media. The bulk of 2.3 appears to focus on the Dragonspine region, which means Albedo is indeed returning.

Genshin Impact 2.3, called Shadows Amidst Snowstorms, once again sees Albedo investigating the snow-covered Dragonspine region. Banner reruns are common in Genshin Impact updates lately, with characters like Klee and Tartaglia previously getting reruns. Given where the story and events are headed for the new update, it makes sense that Albedo will once again be featured on his own Banner Wish. Surprisingly, Eula is also getting a Banner rerun and it's happening alongside Albedo's, marking the first time this has happened in Genshin Impact.

After the 2.2 update, in which only Thoma was a new playable character, it's great to see more arriving in Version 2.3. The amount of content in the next patch still seems a little light (especially compared to the more recent 2.0 and 2.1 updates), but the additional new playable characters are still exciting. Both Arataki Itto and Gorou will be available in Genshin Impact 2.3, which releases on November 24.
