PUBG: New State Release Date & Final Technical Test Announced

Krafton, PUBG: Battlegroundsparent company, has officially announced PUBG: New State's release date as November 11 on Google Play and the Apple App Store, and the sci-fi mobile spinoff game will hold a final technical test in late October. Since its announcement in February, PUBG: New State held two alpha tests that pre-registered users could partake in. This allowed participants to test the game's new features and mechanics, report bugs, and get a glimpse of its new futuristic map, Troi.

The mobile-only PUBG: New State is set in 2051 in a post-apocalyptic world, and it will be updated separately from PUBG Mobile. Just like in the original PC game, PUBG: New State will continue the battle royale format with 100 players facing each other on a large battlefield. However, Krafton insists new mechanics will freshen New State's gameplay and distinguish it from the rest of the franchise. These inclusions range from a drone store, weapon customization, combat rolling, player recruitment system, and more that will help the title stand out from PUBG Mobile and the recently renamed PUBG: Battlegrounds.

In an online showcase, Krafton revealed PUBG: New State will release globally for iOS and Android on November 11, following a final technical on October 29 and October 30 in select countries. According to Executive Producer Minkyu Park, the game's new mobile rendering technology and gunplay put it on par with the PC version of PUBG: Battlegrounds. Creative DIrector Daehun Kim also detailed PUBG: New State's features and content update plans. At launch, the spinoff will have four unique maps, including the futuristic Troi and returning fan favorite, Erangel. The game will also be regularly updated with gameplay improvements, seasonally rebalance gameplay balance and introduce new content, and take player feedback into account when it comes to what needs to be changed or added.

Additionally, Krafton explained PUBG: New State's anti-cheat measures. While the original PUBG uses BattlEye, New State will continue to use PUBG Shield like PUBG Mobile. This system will ban "the use of an unauthorized program, emulators, keyboard, and mouse, and actively detect and restrict hacks to prevent cheating and protect the game’s code.". Ending the showcase, the parent company announced that PUBG: New State surpassed more than 50 million pre-registrations, a testament to the enduring popularity of the battle royale franchise and the size of the mobile free-to-play market.

After a relatively short time since its reveal, PUBG: New State is on its way to iOS and Android devices for a November 11 rollout. In the meantime, players can continue their battle royale escapades in PUBG Mobile, as that title will continue to be supported and updated after New State's launch.
