A hilarious new Tik Tok shows what a meeting between the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man and the comic book version of the character could look like. Spider-Man, currently portrayed by Tom Holland in the MCU, is poised to return with the upcoming release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The film is directed by Jon Watts, who also lead Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far Far Home, and is set to premiere in December.
Spider-Man is arguably one of the Marvel characters best known for going on journeys through the multiverse and meeting other versions of himself. Similar to how DC often uses The Flash, many fans have come to love the common Spider-Man crossovers due to the fact that different iterations of the character can meet, share stories, and learn from one another. These Spider-Man crossovers have served as the catalyst for some of the best stories involving the wall-crawling hero ever told, and have even led to Oscar gold with films like Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
There is no shortage of fan art and edits that poke fun at the Spider-Verse concept. With that in mind, Tik Tok user Nikhil Clayton has posted a hilarious new video showing what a meet-up between the MCU version of Spider-Man and the 616 comic book version could look like. The video shows the original 20th century comic book character chatting to his younger Peter Parker variant, as the two swap stories about shared Marvel characters and attempt to understand the MCU Spider-Man's narrative knowledge gaps. Check out the full video below.

Clearly, Clayton has done his homework, as the above video highlights some of the key differences between Tom Holland’s version of Peter Parker from the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the version that originated in Marvel Comics back in the 1960s. Though they share many similarities, the MCU version of Peter is still young and has not been on many of the canonical stories that the comic book version of Peter has been on. Additionally, the video calls out the fact that the MCU Spider-Man is (as of right now) missing some key elements to his stories, such as Peter's first girlfriend, Gwen Stacy, and Uncle Ben.
With all of that said, it’s worth wondering how long it will take for the silver screen version of Spider-Man to catch up and go on some of the adventures that his comic book counterpart has been on. With Spider-Man: No Way Home opening up the multiverse, that film could serve as the catalyst that lets Tom Holland encounter some of these numerous iconic friends and foes down the line, and move out from under the shadow of Tony Stark. Fans like Clayton would no doubt be happy to see this come to fruition in Spider-Man: No Way Home when the film finally releases.
