New World is a massive MMORPG with miles of land for players to explore with friends. Luckily, there is a way to fast travel through the world to make that exploration just a little bit easier.
As with most games like it, the fast travel in New World allows players to essentially teleport to towns, and hamlets, they have previously visited. However, this ability, is not offered immediately to the half a million players already invested in the game.
New World players will have had to visit certain places before being able to fast travel to it. After that, players will have the option to fast travel to the settlement, or use the Recall To Inn function if the player has stayed in that inn. This recall function has a cool-down of about an hour, which is important for players to keep in mind if they are wanting to travel to multiple places in a short span of time. Unfortunately, players can only be registered to one inn at a time, so it is also important for players to decide on a good middle ground or home-base inn to return to. The best part of the Recall To Inn feature is that it doesn’t require the same recourses as the other method of fast traveling.
The usual method of fast travel in New World costs Azoth. Azoth is a shiny blue resource gained by completing quests. The amount of Azoth required to fast travel changes depending on the base travel cost of the settlement being traveled to, the distance cost, and the encumbrance cost. The further the player wants to travel, the more Azoth it will cost. Also, the more gear or equipment the player is carrying, the more Azoth will be needed. Discounts to fast travel can be acquired by joining a faction or company. This discount may be higher if the player’s chosen faction controls the area.
Traveling New World’s Aeternum on foot is the best way for players to become familiar with the world and map. It’s also the best way to find quests to complete and life motes, as well as being necessary to access fast travel in the first place. However, for players who have explored and aren’t interested in taking a cross-country trek, fast travel is definitely the better option.
