Dwayne Johnson's DC Costume Teased In First Black Adam Footage

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson unveils a new look at Black Adam ahead of DC FanDome 2021. After debuting to much success in 2020, the DC exclusive fan event is once again taking place this year, although a couple of months later than usual. Nevertheless, fans should expect a lot of surprises and revelations about upcoming projects, including Black Adam.

It's no secret that the former WWE superstar has long been attached to play the anti-hero, but it got stuck in production limbo for years until the cameras finally started rolling in April of this year. Production wrapped up just back in July, giving it plenty of time to be fine-tuned before its July 2022 rollout. Originally, Black Adam was supposed to debut in David F. Sandberg's Shazam!, but plans changed and Warner Bros. thought it's best to debut him in a standalone flick. It's directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and written by Adam Sztykiel and Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani. Aside from its titular character, the blockbuster will also introduce the Justice Society of America composed of Hawkman (Aldis Hodge), Doctor Fate (Pierce Brosnan), Cyclone (Quintessa Swindell), and Atom Smasher (Noah Centineo).

Black Adam will have its own segment at DC FanDome, and teasing what fans can expect from it, Johnson took it to his official Instagram to share a brand new teaser for the movie. It features several shots of the hero's costume, highlighting the details of his suit which has been confirmed isn't padded. There are also wide shots of the character. Meanwhile, Brosnan also offers his comments regarding their film saying "nothing compared to this." Watch the full video below:

The whole DC FanDome 2021 event will only run for about four hours. So considering the sheer number of projects that it will feature, chances are that each segment will be efficient and quite brief. That doesn't mean, however, that it wouldn't be satisfying for fans. For Black Adam, there's a possibility that Johnson will drop the first official trailer for the movie; after all, it's less than a year away from premiering, and marketing typically should begin around this time. Considering Brosnan's appearance in the aforementioned clip, it's safe to assume that he would also be there, and possibly the rest of the blockbuster's primary cast. Aside from the trailer itself, perhaps an official poster could also be unveiled.

If Black Adam's panel from DC FanDome 2020 is any indication, there's a good chance that fans of the character and this movie, in particular, are up for a great presentation. Johnson's enthusiasm for the blockbuster has long been evident.  And as someone who's great with marketing his own projects, it's not outside the realm of possibility that he and his team also prepared other surprises for viewers.
