Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz had a mini Twilight reunion almost 10 years after the film saga officially wrapped up. The Twilight film saga is based on Stephanie Meyer's young adult novels, which chronicled the love story of Bella Swan, a mortal teenager, and the vampire Edward Cullen. The series first hit the big screen in 2008 with Twilight and concluded in 2012 with The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 2. The film franchise became a worldwide phenomenon, collectively grossing more than $3.4 billion at the box office.
Twilight also catapulted both Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, who played the star-crossed lovers, into stardom. Greene and Lutz played supporting roles as Alice and Emmett Cullen, Edward's vampire siblings. In the original Twilight film, Alice and Emmett were part of the baseball game in which Bella got to play with Edward's entire coven. The sequence became iconic as it highlighted the Cullens' good looks, super-speed ability, and otherworldly strength.
Recently, Greene and Lutz treated Twilight fans to a surprise reunion when they got together to recreate the famous baseball scene. The two actors seemed to turn back time as they stepped into their Alice and Emmett characters once again to film a parody video for content creator Matt Cutshall's Emo's Not Dead series. In the hilarious clip, Lutz's Emmett and Cutshall got into a fight before Greene, dressed in her Twilight baseball costume, suddenly arrives to stop the chaos; just as her character did in the 2008 movie. Both actors posted photos of their sweet reunion on Instagram. Check out the posts below:
Both Greene and Lutz complimented each other in their posts and reminisced about the fun they had while making the hit Twilight saga. Twilight's official IG account also picked up on this random reunion and re-shared the short parody. Meanwhile, Nikki Reed, who played the vampire Rosalie Hale in the movies, commented on Greene's post to greet her former co-stars. The actress wrote, "Oh good, I told Emmett I needed some 'me time' so I'm glad he met up with you for some baseball," alluding to her Twilight character, who was Emmett's love interest in the movies.
It's been nearly 10 years since Breaking Dawn was released. Undoubtedly, the Twilight saga is now remembered as one of the most successful film series of its genre, stealing the hearts of fans all over the world. With Stewart and Pattinson busy with Spencer and The Batman respectively, it's safe to assume that a full-blown cast reunion is unlikely to happen anytime soon. For now, Greene and Lutz's Alice-Emmett parody video is enough to bring back nostalgia and excite loyal Twilight fans.
